Don’t Miss the Annual Tree Lighting at the 2017 Macy’s Light Up the Square on Nov. 24

The Christmas season officially begins the day after Thanksgiving, when is when the 2017 Macy's Lights up the Square event will unfold at Fountain Square. From 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24, come to Fountain Square to enjoy festive activities like the lighting of the massive holiday tree, ice skating, and a meet-and-greet with Santa Claus, plus live music and local food and drink. The evening culminates in a sparkly fireworks display that will get everyone who watches in the holiday spirit.

At the same time, Cincideutsch Christkindlmarkt will be happening at Fountain Square. This German-inspired holiday market showcases one-of-a-kind gifts, including holiday-themed ornaments and decor, crafted by some of Cincinnati's own artisans. You can also expect authentic German fare and drink—including hot spiced wine, AKA Glühwein. After this kickoff event, the market will continue to run every weekend through December 16th.
