Former Milacron Factory in Oakley Could Be Redeveloped as Soccer Stadium
The Futbol Club Cincinnati is scouting locations for a new stadium, and rumor has it that the the professional soccer club is eyeballing the old Milacron Factory in Oakley. If selected, the former factory site would be redeveloped into the new stadium for FC Cincinnati; the team currently uses Nippert Stadium as its home base.
The reason for the change in stadiums? FC Cincinnati has submitted a bid to join Major League Soccer. As part of their consideration to be included in MLS, FC Cincy must propose a comprehensive stadium plan that ensures the team can properly accommodate fans.
In addition to the Milacron Factory location, The Enquirer speculates that sites in Queensgate South, Riverside Yard, and a handful of other sites may be on FC Cincy's proposal to MLS.
