If you resolved to stay active straight through the wintry months, here\u2019s how to reach your fitness goals (and stay warm doing it).<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Bundle up and head outside<\/strong>.\u00a0Some people prefer the sun on their face and fresh air in their lungs when they exercise, as opposed to the gym environment. If you\u2019re among these people, feel free to keep up your fresh-air routine in the winter, just make sure you\u2019re wearing the proper clothing. Layer up with warm, sweat-wicking materials, and don\u2019t forget thick socks, warm gloves, and a hat.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Set a personal goal<\/strong>.\u00a0A vague resolution like \u201cget fitter in 2019\u201d is a good starting point, but it\u2019s hard to measure success against this goal. So come up with something more specific (and realistic), like getting out for a run twice a week or hitting up a yoga class every Thursday night. This way, you\u2019ll have a solid idea of how you\u2019re doing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Work out with a friend.\u00a0<\/strong>It\u2019s more fun working out with someone else\u2014and they\u2019re your built-in accountability partner. Even on the days that you don\u2019t feel like going to the gym, if you know someone\u2019s already there waiting for you, you\u2019ll be more apt to get moving. So find another friend who\u2019s also interested in exercising more and bring them on board to be your fitness buddy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Drink plenty of water.\u00a0<\/strong>All your hard work in the gym or on the running path will be for naught if you don\u2019t drink enough water, and it\u2019s easy to under-hydrate in the winter.
